The mosque design is inspired by Kosovo’s traditions and is strongly inspired by Islamic architecture. The project purpose was to design a Kosovan Mosque as an interpretation of the Islamic Architectural and Cultural traditions adjusted to the Kosovan context. The specific elements constituting the traditional mosques found in the Arab world were adapted to the Kosovan climate conditions and lighting.
