The structure is made out of 592 stone elements that were designed and fabricated in Palestine using computational design software and computer controlled machines. The overall structure relies on stereotomy as a structural principle. As such, the pieces of stones interlock in a way that once they are surrounded by their neighboring elements they can no longer be removed. The structure is 4.3m high, 3.05m long and 1.62m wide. Three types of stones were used for the structure coming from three different regions of Palestine. All of the stones are hard limestone absorbing only small amounts of water.

Stacking principle

The interlocking system used for this structure relies on wavy sinusoidal surfaces of contact. All upper and bottom surfaces of stones have a ruled surface geometry defined by a sinusoidal curve.
